How to Sterilize Your Scanning Tips

Not only do you need to cleanse your dental scanner, but it is also important to make sure your scanning tips are properly sanitized before each new scan for the safety of your and your patients. As you clean your scanning tips, remember to:

1. Hold the main part of the device to pull out the scanning tip.

2. Install a sterilized scanning tip on the device.

As you clean your FirstClass Scan, you’ll want to consider both high-temperature sterilization and O-benzaldehyde disinfection for the safest and most detailed cleans with each use.

High-Temperature Sterilization

01

Clean a scanning tip with clean or soapy water. Check the scanning mirror and make sure it is free of stains. Dry the scanning tip with an air gun.

02

Put the scanning tip into a sterilizing bag and then seal the sterilizing bag.

03

Put the wrapped scanning tips into the sterilizer, and select the 121-sterilization process to sterilize at 121°C for at least 45 minutes.

04

After sterilizing, take the scan tips out of the sterilizer for storage.

O-benzaldehyde Disinfectant
